I find this video a little more than a bit disturbing, but really enjoy the song.
Powder in your hair
Staples in your jeans
Fireworks in the water
You were holding
A styro-foam cup
Held between your teeth
Telling me how you’re going to outlive your body
What you said I wrote it down, I wont say, I won’t speak – the same
Maybe I know better than to read more from what’s written
After everything, after everything.
Left in the sun, shivering.
After everything.
Gathering your stone
Talk to fill the space
Do you know where some soul was, when they were —
The women that we see, to talk me out of everything
Careful what you say next, don’t waste a scene, you’re drunk
What you said I wrote it down, wont say, wont speak – the same
After everything, after everything.
Left in the sun, shivering.
After everything.
What you said I wrote it down, but wont say, wont speak – the same
Maybe I know better than to read more than what’s there
After everything, after everything.
Left in the sun, shivering.
After everything.
I’m looking for a place to start,
But everything feels so different now.
Just grab a hold of my hand,
I will lead you through this wonderland.
Water up to my knees,
But sharks are swimming in the sea.
Just follow my yellow light
And ignore all those big warning signs.Somewhere deep in the dark
A howling beast hears us talk.
I dare you to close your eyes
And see all the colors in disguise.
Running into the night,
The earth is shaking and I see a light.
The light is blinding my eyes
As the soft walls eat us alive.
Maybe this will be my birthday present to myself
I really enjoy listening to his music…it’s super mellow. the-weeknd.com

So there are riots going on in Portugal! (Un)fortunately this has cancelled our flights so now we are taking a train to Madrid tomorrow then renting a car from Madrid to Porto. Fun times and we are definitely taking out rental insurance. Assuming everything goes to plan it should only be a 6 hour drive. I’m hoping we make it their in 2 pieces.
Bonjour! We just made it to our Paris flat a few hours ago! After passing through the world’s largest front door and up the thinnest, sketchiest flights of stairs, we landed in our super cozy flat. We dropped off the luggage and stopped by a cafe down the street. Fortunately the people were nice enough to facilitate our crappy french pronunciation. After not eating for close to 24 hours I was excited to devour my Salad Niocese and have a yummy cappuccino while Farima had a crepe. We made it to a market and picked up some chocolate, strawberrys, nanas, nutella, vino, cheese, and meats. It started raining so we just took a much needed 2 hour nap and are now mapping out our plans for the evening. It’s crazy not being able to understand anything around you or have conversations with people, but we assumed as much. I’m planning on fully utilizing my smile and nod throughout Paris. Hopefully tonight we will meet people our age that are excited to speak Amurican and can direct us to fun spots. Tonight we are heading to the 5th Arrondissement. Farima just googled a bar here where the waiters are dressed in speedos, I think we will have to see it to believe it? French have bad hygiene, as noticed in the market earlier, so I am not sure if that could turn out to be a poor choice?
We made it!! Flight went by super quick. We went to sleep around 10:30 and woke up at 6:30am. Virgin Atlantic is very generous and provides you with a sleepover pouch containing a toothbrush, toothpaste, socks, and eye blinders. I took full advantage of them. My favorite was the socks and that everyone on the plane wore them so it felt like a sock party. Farima was nice enough to let me use her shoulder as a pillow to drool on since the lady thief behind me stole my pillow. There was a big golden retriever sleeping on the floor next to us and that was really neat! We figured out the underground train system and made it to our hotel “Caring Hotel” for the night. I’m assuming it’s called Caring since the bathrooms are shared. That’s fun. Almost as fun as car(y)ing our luggage up 19 flights of stairs to get to our shoebox of a room. Within all of this it is super charming out here. Very green and almost feels fake. I can’t take anyone serious with their accents. We are going to cat nap then see what kind of trouble we can find. xoxo
Pretty Much Amazing is a music blog run by a self-proclaimed music nerd and contributed to by a handful of self-proclaimed music opinion specialists. We were once called “the true keepers of serendipity” in The New Yorker. MTV thinks we’re one of the “best independent music blogs,” and called us “a blog you should know.” Toronto Star thinks we’re “indispensable,” and The New York Post say we’re “one of those little website crumbs of deliciousness we visit every morning.” We’ve also been up for a couple Bloggies, but we’re usually beaten out by Pitchfork.

You can either toss those chocolate chips in with the mix before putting the batter into the dish, or melt the chocolate and drizzle on top. I didn't do either... I forgot.

Yes, your mouth is watering. Yes, you are excited.
Does this scenario sound familiar?!It's definitely a familiar scenario for me every year and I still haven't learned to write down the gifts as I think of them. (Call me lazy, but I keep telling myself that my memory is better this year than last and that I would remember...blah, blah, blah). This year I decided I could use some of what I have coined remembering karma so I decided to make a list of gifts to help others with gift ideas before they reach the 'scrambling last minute' scenario, here is a list of gifts all under $15 which we think would make a great gift for just about anyone and they can all be ordered online (yippee!!).
| One of my favorites! |
Yes, the items are priced a bit higher, but they are still cheaper than spending a tank of gas to drive out of town!!

These brownies have banana coming at you in three ways: mashed in the batter, flattened into a fudgy center, and sprinkled on top for crunchy banana chip bites. The combination makes for a rich and fudgy ’nana brownie that everyone—vegan, gluten-intolerant, and otherwise—can enjoy.
Here are excerpts from the flyer that came with my cookbook:

I'm a longtime lover of Joe's and my praises of the store on my blog have, over the years, garnered some disbelief," says author Kris Holechek Peters. "I've even been asked if I was being paid to advertise for them--I wish! So this book was a long time coming. Now, after spreading lots of TJ's love and being asked to write a cookbook for years, here it is."
I have to say, this coffee is the best pumpkin spice coffee I've had yet #pumpkinspice @traderjoeslist twitter.com/berubeka/statu…Check out what Trader Joe's Website had to say about this fall favorite:
— Kaylin Berube (@berubeka) October 17, 2012
Trader Joe's Pumpkin Spice Coffee starts as 100% Arabica coffee beans – more specifically, 100% Brazil Cerrado Arabica beans. They're roasted to a medium-dark, Vienna-style roast and then spiked with actual spices, not artificial flavorings. We use things like orange peel, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, vanilla beans and all natural pumpkin spice flavor. The beans and the spices are ground together, so the flavors have time to merge, mingle and marry. It's like having a very low calorie (okay, no calorie) slice of pumpkin pie, in a cup. That you drink. It's smooth, easy-drinking and, starting now, the official beverage of pumpkin season here at Trader Joe's. We're selling each 14 ounce can of ground Pumpkin Spice Coffee for $8.99, every day – until the end of pumpkin season, that is. So if Pumpkin Spice Coffee is up your alley, don't wait too long; pumpkin season doesn't last forever.
I'm not easily inhibited by the fact that I don't know something about a subject. It doesn't stop me from dabbling in it.
